Wandelingen in Provinz Västernorrland

Skuleskogen National Park is a part of the Höga Kusten area which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The area is very special due to the land uplift effect after the last ice age. Every 100 years the land still lifts about 1 meter out of the water with very special effects on nature. This hike starts at the northern parking place and passes a few of the highlights of the Skuleskogen National Park as there are  Slattdalsskrevan (a very narrow canyon almost at the highest point of the park) Slattdalsberget (a beautiful viewpoint) Tärnättholmarna (used to be an island, but now connected to the land due to the land uplift) The park is equipped with everything you need. Huts, fire places, toilets,...

Relatively demanding trail, with a tough side track to the Grotta (cave)

A reasonably easy track, with little elevation gain, but some short, steeper climbs. The trail goes through forests, over rock and pebbles. The uneven surface makes it more "moderate", rather than easy.

One loop option to Slåttdalskrevan (Slåttdal Gorge/ravine). Beautiful hike. The first half up to Slåttdalsskrevan is now almost entirely on board walks, making it easy. However, there is a very steep climb at the end.

Trysunda was named "Sweden's most beautiful island" in 2006 in the book "The Islands of Sweden". A nature reserve is created to protect the beautiful nature and the important cultural environment of the fishing village. Fisherman established a village on this island in the 16th century. In the past there also has been an iron ore mine, but nowadays just a few people live here all year long. Very special... there are no cars on this tiny island!

Very nice round tour along the typical coast of this area. Lunch by the sea and drink coffee in a centuries-old village.

Steep and strenuous climb, but absolutely worth it!
