The Alpe-Adria Trail, which is signposted from start to finish, is a varied 750-km-long voyage of exploration that traverses the borders of three countries – Austria, Italy and Slovenia – and three cultures. It runs from the foothills of the majestic Grossglockner Mountain to the azure Adriatic Sea. With views of a superb variety of natural wonders, alpine aquatic adventures and fascinating animal and plant life, it wends its way around lakes, streams and rivers, until it reaches its goal: the Adriatic Sea. Hügelauf und hügelab führt Sie diese Etappe durch Kastanienwälder und über alte Weideländer, bis Sie schließlich den Marienwallfahrtsort Castelmonte erreichen. Von dort führt der Weg stetig bergab in die Stadt Cividale del Friuli. Es erwartet Sie eine Route ohne technische Schwierigkeiten, die für jeden, besonders für Kulturinteressierte, geeignet ist. Allerdings aufgrund der Länge von ca. sechs Stunden nicht zu unterschätzen.

Eine mögliche Route um von Salzburg zu Fuß zum Meer zu kommen. Ich selbst habe diese Strecke mit 2 Freunden im Juli in 17 Tagen zurückgelegt, allerdings unter Zeitdruck. Zelt ist von Vorteil, es gibt nicht überall Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten.
